hopeless-cigarettes asked: what kind of blog am i? i dunno what to label myself >.< i've been using nature/grunge, does that sound right?
Having lived through grunge, I can tell you, with authority in fact, that no, your blog is not grunge… :)
Why do you want to label yourself anyway? What would you label my blog? There are entire sections of it crammed with street photography, others are over-flowing with naked women. How could you label it as a whole other than “photographs?”
The problem with labels is that on some level you’re going to be forced to adhere to whatever it is.
But since you asked, I’d say your blog is emo. :)
chrisdpics asked: Here's a gear question. Do you have a favorite camera and lens that you use? When working with models what film do you use?
The short answer is… it varies…
The camera I find myself always going back to, regardless of what I’m shooting, is the Leica with a 35mm on it. I guess I’d say that’s my staple and has been for a long time. Again, it varies, I’ve been shooting a lot of medium format lately using various cameras. I shoot an old twin lens Yashica Mat on the street sometimes and have a few different Bronica setups for studio work. Just recently started using a 250mm on the Bronica that I’m really digging lately…
As for film when shooting models, I think my favorite in the studio is probably Ilford Pan F Plus. I just love the tonal range and skin tones it produces. On location I’ll typically shoot Kodak Tri-X or Ilford HP5 for the latitude and versatility.
Thanks for the questions!
